"Ienăchită Văcărescu" Highschool from Târgoviste, the first of its kind created in Dâmbovita county in modern epoch, continues the forms of education set up in feudal times. Târgoviste has been the first cultural center of Tara Româneasca since the 18 th century, an epoch of spiritual prosperity, from Matei Basarab's reign to Constantin Brancoveanu's.
     Since day one until nowadays, "Ienăchită Văcărescu" National College has proved to be an educational establishment that offers high quality services, regarding both the process of learning and the teaching aids.
     One of the oldest schools in Târgoviste, "Ienăchită Văcărescu" formed great personalities that later carried on its repute nationally and internationally. Also, more than 1000 students are taught and trained by first-rate teachers.
     Having recently been renewed due to a programme initiated by the International Bank, the school is equipped with modern didactic resources. Moreover, "Ienăchită Văcărescu" is involved in several national and international projects and it has been an European School since 2006.
